The Hospital
This independently minded, full-service small-animal hospital delivers a broad caseload across preventive care, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, and select avian and exotic care. The clinic is newly renovated, wheelchair-accessible, and designed for an efficient, client-friendly experience with free on-site parking. A tenured team of technicians and surgical nurses supports seamless anesthesia, intraoperative monitoring, and attentive post-op care. In-house capabilities include digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and lab diagnostics, plus dental radiography and cold laser therapy. Operational tools such as online booking, appointment reminders, same-day availability, multi-pet scheduling, and integrated pharmacy services streamline workflows. The Role
- Lead medical quality and set clinical standards to deliver progressive, compassionate care
- Provide hands-on clinical work across wellness, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, and daytime urgent cases
- Develop and refine medical protocols, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance
- Partner with hospital leadership on service growth, budgeting priorities, and equipment planning
- Oversee pharmacy controls and inventory, including controlled substances management
- Coach, mentor, and conduct regular meetings with veterinarians; participate in DVM recruitment
- Monitor key performance metrics and collaborate on operational improvements
- Foster effective client communication and a cohesive, team-based approach to case management
- Engage in community initiatives such as vaccine and microchip clinics
- Enjoy a flexible 4-day schedule with no on-call and strong clinical autonomy

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- License to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan (or ability to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain and maintain)
- 3-5+ years of clinical experience with strong medical, surgical, and dental skills
- Demonstrated leadership, team collaboration, and client communication abilities
- Comfort with the physical aspects of veterinary practice
