Build and maintain backend services for the MBG expense-management platform. You will own service-level features end-to-end — from API design and persistence to deployment and observability — for the systems that finance and IT teams depend on.

**Responsibilities:**
* Design, build, and maintain Python services that power invoice processing, inventory, and reporting
* Author clean, well-tested REST APIs with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy 2.0
* Model data thoughtfully in PostgreSQL; review schema changes and Alembic migrations
* Contribute to platform infrastructure (Docker, AWS, GitHub Actions, IaC via Terraform)
* Participate in architectural reviews and on-call rotation (light, US business hours)
* Mentor junior contributors and provide thoughtful code review
**Requirements:**
* 4+ years of professional Python development with production services in production
* Strong experience with FastAPI (or Flask/Django) and PostgreSQL
* Comfortable with Docker, AWS (ECS or Fargate, Lambda, RDS), and CI/CD
* Type-hinted Python; familiarity with mypy or pyright
* Solid testing fundamentals: pytest, integration testing, contract testing
* Clear technical writing — design docs, ADRs, post-mortems
* US work authorization required; able to overlap 4 hours/day with US Eastern Time
**Nice to have:**
* Experience with event-driven systems (SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Kafka)
* Prior work in fintech, AP automation, or telecom-adjacent industries
* Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, structured logging, and SLO tracking
* Comfort with modern Python tooling: uv, ruff, pre-commit
