About the Role
Our client, a leading national retailer and consumer products company, is seeking a Brand and Creative Designer to join their internal design consulting team. This is a contract role based out of the client's Minneapolis headquarters, with an on-site requirement of three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile brand and graphic designer who thrives in a fast-paced, project-based environment and enjoys bringing order and clarity through design. Job Description
Reporting to the Design Director, the Brand and Creative Designer will support high-level leadership on projects that span a broad creative spectrum — from presentation decks and physical artifacts that bring new in-store services to life, to immersive experiences that showcase strategy, product displays, and brand storytelling. The work is project-based, highly collaborative, and moves quickly.
If you have experience across a wide variety of design disciplines, can move fast, and consistently bring structure and polish to your work, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
  • Contribute to editorial, exhibit, and experiential design projects from concept through execution.
  • Lead a strong end-to-end design process, including research (trend, user, mood boards, design direction), concept development (sketching, rendering, technical specifications, mockups, and design guides), and refinement based on feedback.
  • Develop brand-focused solutions within established brand guidelines while also creating new visual and form languages.
  • Build compelling presentations and infographics that communicate ideas and concepts clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Support installations and physical builds, including moving product samples and displays, assembling fixtures, and hanging signage.
Schedule & Logistics:
  • Minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • On-site in Minneapolis, MN a minimum of three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday); some projects may require additional in-office days on a project-by-project basis.
  • A portfolio of work or link to a personal website is required for consideration.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Four-year degree in Graphic Design or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–8 years of editorial and communication-based graphic design experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including:
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe InDesign
  • Demonstrated strength across core design competencies, including:
    • Art direction and typography
    • Concept development and illustration
    • Prototyping and product mockups
    • Editorial design and exhibit design
    • Presentation design
  • Proven experience with a strong end-to-end design process, from research through concept development, technical specifications, and refinement.
  • Proficient to strong ability with Generative AI and emerging design technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Excel) and digital whiteboarding tools such as Miro.
  • Excellent visual communication, presentation-building, and storytelling skills, including infographic and presentation design.
  • Experience translating graphic design into physical space, such as exhibits and immersive experiences.
  • Experience developing and executing brand-focused design solutions within established brand guidelines, including branding, logos, marks, packaging, signage, and image layouts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills, including client engagement, partnership-building, stakeholder alignment, and contributing in cross-functional team environments.
  • Ability to create structure to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confidence to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to be comfortable working on installations, including moving product samples and displays, working on ladders to hang signage, and assembling fixtures.
Preferred Qualifications:
